A music ministry director is normally responsible for all of the music in a church setting. This means they are required to create a music environment that allows the congregation to be drawn into a spirit of worship, They also recruit and direct the team of singers, band, and anyone else involved with performing music. Music ministry directors are also in charge of directing rehearsals and performances, leading congregational singing, and potentially playing a musical instrument. Music ministry directors may also be responsible for developing and overseeing the yearly music budget. They must also organize events for special occasions such as Christmas and Easter.
