Directors of program management in human services oversee the administrative and day-to-day operations of human service departments for their organization. Their duties include organizing the employees needed for the life cycle of a project; ensuring employees' professional conduct in all relations with clients, third parties, and other employees; and making sure projects' revenue and budget goals are met. They also assist in the creation of program management plans and budgets, monitor employee progress (potentially including those in off-site offices), and delegate tasks to employees and third parties assigned to a program. Directors of program management in human services generally work full time in an office setting, although overtime may be required as deadlines approach. These professionals work in a wide variety of organizations across many different industries.
