A magazine editor helps ensure that issues of their publication meet certain predetermined standards for content, design, and other areas. The magazine editor reads over articles and makes sure that they are engaging and free of grammatical, spelling, or factual errors. Ensuring that photographs are of quality and fit with the magazine image is also part of their job. The magazine editor may direct the designers, helping determine the layout and art of the magazine. Additionally, the editor must make sure that all material adheres to copyright and trademark laws.
