English Teacher/Tutor (Vocational) Reviews

What is it like working as an English Teacher/Tutor (Vocational)?
English Teacher/Tutor (Vocational) in Indianapolis:
"The Most Demanding, Important And Undervalued Work."
Pros: Teaching English is a serious commitment. It isn't simply about exposing young minds to new information such as the authors and great titles of literature. It's teaching them how to think and process what wisdom is contained in great writing, and then to in turn learn to create original pieces of writing that accurately portray that thinking and processing.
Cons: The worse thing about this incredibly important job is that in the US, you can't afford to retire doing it, unless you live a pauper's life. Salaries should grow more quickly and top out at least double what they do currently. Other than that, any friction felt is either typical, acceptable, or beneficial to a professional's growth in the field.
