Executive account managers are responsible for planning, organizing, and directing operations related to account management within their company, as well as leading team members within the accounts department. Computer skills are extremely important, and executive account managers must be capable of using a wide range of software programs and running various company reports.
Executive account managers are responsible for training, scheduling, firing, and leading their executive accounts team. A certain degree of flexibility is desired, as they may be standing or sitting for long periods of time depending on their daily tasks. It is very important to maintain a positive demeanor, as the ability to cooperate with colleagues and work in a team environment will keep the company running smoothly and efficiently. The ability to arrive to work on time and not be absent on many occasions is necessary, as sometimes these managers may be the only people in the office with knowledge of certain practices, and their time away can lead to an unstructured working environment.
It is also necessary to be able to lift 25 - 50 pounds, as the need to lift and move boxes and other small- to medium-sized packages will arise from time to time. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience is generally required for this position.
