What do you wish you knew about your job when you first started out?
Facility Manager in Atlanta:
"Interesting Job, Ever Changing."
The job has its perks and pitfalls. Working around children is a joy, they will make your day :) Job however has a high stress level and a lot of overtime requirements. Be prepared to work where ever and whenever needed to complete a project on time.
Facility Manager in West Jordan:
"Low opportunity for advancement."
Advancement is highly unlikely:
If you weren't hired from a business college directly into an Executive position you have about a 1% chance of promoting to that level in your Group (multiple states).
Heavy company cutbacks across all sectors. At best 10% of employees under management level are getting close to 40 hrs a week. Many of the team leads (managers) aren't even hitting 35 hrs a week these days and it just keeps getting worse...
VERY low team moral - Negative energy coming from everyone below executive level management makes it an unpleasant atmosphere to be in every day.
