These directors are also responsible for scheduling and coordination, as well as risk assessments for potential jobs and ongoing projects, and they must ensure that all tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.Read More...
Field service directors may be responsible for acquiring the tools, manpower, and other necessary equipment to perform the field service, and they may conduct research to identify the most efficient techniques and whether any equipment should be upgraded. These directors also develop budgets, monitor expenses and revenue, and establish profit goals and plans, as well as conduct or oversee estimates for potential jobs and the bid process. For some projects, field service directors may work directly with customers, so customer service skills are beneficial in this position, and internal audits should be performed to ensure that jobs are performed satisfactorily. They must also strive for a good safety/quality record in the best interest of the company.
A bachelor's degree in a business-related field and years of experience in the industry, including leadership experience, are generally required for this position, and extensive knowledge of each service and job carried out by the department is also necessary.
