These specialists may work in a variety of environments, including food labs, offices, restaurants, grocery stores, and places where food is manufactured.

Food Safety Specialist Tasks

  • Work with individual growers, vendors, suppliers, harvesters, transporters, and cooling and storage operators to provide technical support and verify compliance with food safety practices.
  • Provide management with summaries and trend analysis of food safety tests.
  • Implement management plans to correct areas of noncompliance.
  • Conduct workplace safety evaluations and identify areas of improvement.
  • Audit operations of related partners.
