A front end manager is usually visible throughout a supermarket, in areas such as the merchandise aisles, customer service, and the checkout process. The aim of the manager is to create a pleasant shopping experience for customers. The front end manager will interact directly with customers and offer them assistance whenever necessary. The manager oversees employees in various departments of the store and makes sure that they are performing their tasks efficiently and in a friendly and professional manner. When problems are encountered, the front end manager may personally administer training sessions to employees. There may be some hiring duties involved in the job. Keeping track of inventory and ordering supplies may also be a duty assigned to the front end manager. The manager may also be tasked with creating employee schedules, carrying out employee evaluations, and administering disciplinary actions.
Since the front end manager will be doing a lot of walking, stooping, and lifting, minimum physical requirements may be implemented. The ability to work well under pressure and to be self-driven is important.
