Fundraising managers must be skilled in a wide range of tasks, such as working with advertisers and analyzing prospects. They must be comfortable in contacting prospects and donors using various media (phone calls, emails, letters, etc). They must be confident when contacting company officers to invite their employees to become donors. They must be comfortable in making presentations using PowerPoint slides and videos. They must continue building relationships with companies who have made donations. They must be flexible since these jobs are not 9 to 5.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and their organization's computer systems are required. They must know how to operate database programs, where the donors' records reside. They must be able to systematically manipulate the records in order to target prospects more efficiently. They must organize charity events.
