Job Description for Gas Fitter

Gas fitters generally work for companies which provide gas service operations and/or maintenance for residential and commercial buildings. They must fit pipes and fuse sockets and other parts together, and it's very important to get the correct fits in order to prevent leaks. They are also responsible for installing monitoring equipment and meters, soldering, and welding, so proficiency with welding equipment and equipment such as jackhammers, power fasteners, and drills is important in this position.
