Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technicians work with heating, air, and refrigeration systems, installing, repairing, and performing maintenance on these systems as necessary. Depending on the area of specialization, prospective HVAC technicians may work in a wide variety of settings. For example, large system HVAC specialists work in industrial environments and may be indoors and outdoors depending on the project; many HVAC technicians work in residential settings performing tasks indoors and outdoors as needed.
