Job Description for Head Golf Professional

Head golf professionals generally oversee all operations at a private or public golf course. Their duties generally include organizing events for their club, overseeing budgets, and managing expenses such as for golf carts, ground maintenance and golf clubs. They also ensure that their pro shop functions well and is profitable; if their club has a snack bar or other food facilities, head golf professionals provide oversight for these services as well. Head golf professionals also respond to the complaints and concerns of any users of their golf facilities - such as club members - in a timely and professional manner.


Head Golf Professional Tasks

  • Oversee the planning, promotion and execution of all golf activities, organizing tee times, enforcing rules and regulations and overseeing golf play.
  • Organize all aspects of golfing events and tournaments.
  • Manage, hire, train and schedule subordinate staff in pro shop, golf range and locker room.
