Job Description for Health Information Management (HIM) Analyst

Health information management (HIM) analysts are required to have a bachelor’s degree in health information or a related field, at least four years of experience in health care, knowledge of RHIT or RHIA, computer systems, and database management, and education in project management. Aspiring HIM analysts should also have flexible hours in order to meet ever-changing schedules and be able to travel, as workshops and conferences occur frequently. In addition to travel, HIM analysts should also have computer skills to be able to work remotely.
