A healthcare admissions director is a position that is usually sought after by healthcare organizations such as nursing homes, hospitals, and doctor's offices. Many companies will require at least a bachelor's degree in communications or business, but a relevant master's degree is more preferable. At least 2 years of experience is recommended for most positions, although some companies may require as many as 5 years of experience working with sales or admissions. Experience may be able to substitute for a degree if the prospective employee has enough experience.
The healthcare admissions director will usually be working in a healthcare environment. This person will regularly be on their feet as they will be not only managing a group of employees, but also showing patients around and giving tours of the facility. Most organizations will not require any travel, but a few may include light travel if the company owns multiple facilities.
