Job Description for Host/Hostess

Hosts and hostesses generally work at a restaurant and greet all of the customers who want to sit down and eat. The host or hostess has the job of finding the correct table for their customers. Often, they also provide menus and inform customers of any specials the restaurant may have that day. Aside from seating customers, they may take their payment when they leave. Additionally, when the restaurant is busy or conflicts arise, the host or hostess must be able to effectively resolve issues in an effective, efficient manner.
