Information technology (IT) implementation specialists are hired in a wide variety of IT companies, ranging from smaller-sized businesses to large corporations. Although some positions do not have specific educational requirements, many prefer or require a bachelor’s degree in fields such as computer science and information technology. Work experience requirements vary with pay levels and company size, but many require a minimum of five years of experience in a related position. In many positions, security clearances and experience working with government organizations is highly preferred or mandatory.
