Becoming an import/export agent requires very little specialized education and instead relies on individual competence. To work as an import/export agent, you generally are only required to hold a high school diploma at the very least. The primary function of an import/export agent is to organize and schedule shipments of goods. They need to know what is coming in and what is going out of a given location which requires extensive documentation. In addition to this, goods must be meticulously examined to ensure that they comply with all legal standards and requirements. Tracking shipments and ensuring their documentation is up to date and complete is an every day task for import/export agents.

  • Ensure all regulations, certificates, and documentation needs are met, as well as tracking all shipments.
