Job Description for Import Manager

An import manager is responsible for receiving, inspecting and documenting items that arrive from overseas. They also manage a team of operators and office clerks, providing guidance, support, and discipline as needed. Import manager are in charge of exporting items, and they must be up to date on all import and export laws of the country in which they are based and the countries from which they receive items. This job normally exists with companies that deal with customers and businesses in other countries. Generally, import managers hold full-time positions; hours may vary depending on the needs of the company. They may need to travel as well, depending on the requirements of the position.
