Interior and exterior designers are responsible for creating layout and design templates for both the inside and outside of buildings. Interior and exterior designers may be employed by companies or individuals to work on businesses or private/personal settings. For instance, the designer may spend one month working on layouts for a new commercial retail development. The following month, they may oversee a renovation project at a private home.
Interior & Exterior Designer Tasks
Subcontract fabrication, installation, and arrangement of carpeting, fixtures, accessories, draperies, paint and wall coverings, art work, furniture, and related items.
Estimate material requirements and costs, and present design to client for approval.
Coordinate with other professionals, such as contractors, architects, engineers and plumbers.
Plan, design, and furnish interiors and exteriors of residential, commercial, or industrial buildings.
