Information technology (IT) internal support engineers are based within IT department, and their primary responsibility is to support and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure and provide technical support to end-users within the company. They either work directly for the company or for a company that provides IT services to external organizations.

Respond to technical requests and outages, resolving problems in a timely manner.
Provide expertise and advice on appropriate use, forecasting needs and offering recommendations.
Own designated software or hardware systems, and take responsibility for their maintenance and operation.
Educate and assist with meetings, training materials, and goal-setting involving information technology (IT).
