Maintenance Coordinator Reviews

What is it like working as a Maintenance Coordinator?

Maintenance Coordinator in Dallas:
"The Good, The Bad, The Ugly."
Pros: I'm trusted to do my job efficiently and correctly. I get to work for a company which is a big name and much sought employer in my community. I get to communicate with people all day. I don't have to deal with the general public. I have a lot of responsibility and am constantly gaining more. My job makes a difference within my company. I am a specialist among my peers/coworkers in the information technology field. It's a good business/management/construction/machinery learning experience.
Cons: I have a lot of responsibility and am often gaining more. I feel like I don't see adequate information for the tasks I'm asked to do (@ one time the idea of me sitting with the lead programmer of our office software suite company to help with design ideas and would not see a penny extra). Often times, I have too much on my plate to finish all within the given time limits, but I am expected to do so anyway, so I have to figure out how to "make it work". My Equipment Manager (my boss) tells me, "Sacrifices will be made!" in regards to my personal life/time/plans. If something isn't done correctly or I don't understand something, I'm often treated stupid or very rudely and/or made out as an example by my boss or my coworkers.

What do you wish you knew about your job when you first started out?

Maintenance Coordinator in Hopkinsville:
"Understand A Numbers Driven Company."
Embrace safety, learn to re-engineer any situation with current equipment parts available. Create savings when problems raise their ugly head. Be a self motivated person, not for the pat on the back but for your self pride and abilities to shine no mater what the condition, never except the phrase no, protectant be done. And take care of your people you are only as good as what you have trained them to be. If they fail you have failed.
