Administrative duties, such as payroll, keeping finance records, and administering employee evaluations, are carried out by the manager. The manager may have to develop the mission and curriculum for the childcare center, which aids in the development of good physical, emotional, and mental health of the children that attend. State certification relating to childcare directing may be required. Usually, a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field is necessary.
