Job Description for Marine Corp Lance Corporal, Ground Combat

Marine Corps lance corporals (ground combat) are enlisted members of the Marine Corps who are at the final rank in which they qualify for automatic promotion. This rank is located above private first class and below corporal. These Marines are expected to use leadership skills and knowledge acquired at lower ranks to provide guidance and serve as a role model to lower-ranked enlisted personnel. They also need to continue learning and building proficiency within their designated field, in this case related to ground combat. The lance corporal is expected to assist the section chief, as well as handle specified duties such as ensuring weapons have been paid properly and that a section is safe.
