Job Description for Mathematical Science Teacher, Postsecondary

Postsecondary mathematical science teachers provide instruction to students in higher education on subjects such as statistics and the actuarial sciences. These instructors are responsible for developing a curriculum and lesson plans for all of their classes. They then must implement their curricula to classes of students ranging from small classes to large lecture halls. Occasionally, they may be assigned specific unit plans to teach, and they must implement the units they’re given. Postsecondary mathematical science teachers must assess students’ work using methods such as exams, quizzes, homework and in-class exercises.
