Job Description for Meat Manager

Meat managers are responsible for overseeing all aspects of a store's meat intake and output. Specifically, they are in charge of managing inventory, upholding quality assurance, and supervising staff. They must understand cost effectiveness related to their product and be able to implement departmental strategies for employees. In addition, meat managers oversee the work of employees such as butchers, counter help, and store assistants. They must ensure safety and sanitary procedures are followed at all times, and they often serve as part of the hiring and training process for their department. Additionally, meat managers may work directly with customers. These professionals serve as part of the management team, and they generally report to the store manager or district manager.
