Don't Procrastinate
If you are moving and plan to work, don't wait until the last minute to began your job search. It's never too early.
Illegal Firing
I was pregnant when I got fired. They made up a bogus excuse saying that I threatened to stab a supervisor and then said that they had notarized statements from my coworkers that stated this. None of my coworkers said they signed anything. When I left, I asked for a copy of my file and also a written description of why I was fired. He said he would send it to me. I called up and asked them for it and they then told me that they would give it to me if I obtained a subpoena (sp?). THEN they called the police and drafted a letter saying that if I come to their suite, it would be trespassing (because they were SO afraid of me). What was bad was that my OB was right across the hall from them. I called the police and asked if I could still go in the building and they said "Yes, they don't own the building". I hate them. Their practice went down the crapper when I left and they had to get a smaller suite in another building. Jerks!!!! Anyhow, I had a healthy little girl and things are better. All other employers were told that I was laid off. I was not telling them that I was fired. It really looks bad. Because I had friends that worked at the office with me, they were my references as well so they didn't ruin me at all as they had hoped to. Just remember what they say about Karma.
