Medical Laboratory Scientist Advice

Q: What do you wish you knew about your job when you first started out?

Medical Laboratory Scientist in Columbus:
This is an excellent career choice for someone who wants into the medical field but doesn't like direct patient contact. For every 1 person graduating from college with a degree in this field 5 are retiring, so it is the employee's market. Now is definitely a great time to get into it. As far as medical professions go, it is fairly low stress compared to the others. The only draw back is lab workers are not involved with a lot of the hospital functions so they do not normally get promoted within the hospital organization itself. There is room for growth with instrument engineering and manufacturing as well as among laboratory management but not hospital management typically.
