Job Description for Military Pilot, Non-Jet

A non-jet military pilot conducts flight operations for aircraft other than jets within the military. Their duties generally include transporting troops and/or equipment to destinations as directed by their superior officers. Non-jet military pilots must ensure that the total weight carried is below maximum capacity, as well as work with other military members to ensure the plane is in appropriate condition to fly. A non-jet military pilot must ensure that flights are as safe as possible by paying close attention to elements such as weather, available fuel, flight path and other concerns. The pilot must keep abreast of all in-flight situations, signals, personnel and flight data during the entirety of the flight, making adjustments as necessary.
