Modeling analysts must have extensive knowledge of quantitative analysis and work in a variety of industries, including finance, defense, data security, and content planning.
Modeling analysts are tasked with creating models for necessary research, and they may provide input regarding these models and evidence to support it. Experience with online modeling programs is necessary for this position, and they must always stay up-to-date with new equipment and programs. Modeling analysts may work with other analysts on projects, so communication skills are highly beneficial for sharing information about tests and procedures, and some may also provide feedback on the work of assistants. Communication with supervisors is necessary on a regular basis to ensure that all decisions are made in a timely manner, and non-disclosure forms may also be necessary due to the sensitive nature of the work.
