Music ministry directors are responsible for directing music in ministries and churches. They must be familiar with instruments such as the organ or piano, as most churches have these instruments in their congregations, and they may also conduct a choir if the church has one. They are typically tasked with selecting the music to be sung by the choir and played by the organist or pianist, and they may need the ability to read music themselves and ensure that it is understood by everyone playing it.
