Job Description for Nurse Oncology

A nurse in the oncology field deals with the treatment of cancer patients. The nurse may assist an oncologist and other physicians in providing care to inpatients or outpatients. This job can be highly stressful, especially when working with an emergency department and/or with terminally ill patients. Chemotherapy may be carried out to the patient by the nurse, as designated by the physician. The nurse will have to administer IVs through various methods.
