Job Description for Office Supervisor
The primary function of an office supervisor is to lead the company's staff in clerical work, telecommunications, word processing, and the filing of reports. These supervisors must ensure the quality of work performed is high, while maintaining communication on tasks' progress with other departments. Office supervisors work with outside vendors, track inventory levels, manage logistics within the department, and receive feedback on how office operations could operate more smoothly. An office supervisor primarily works indoors in an office setting, and there are generally few physical requirements. While the office supervisor generally works during regular business hours, overtime and/or flexible business hours may be required.
The educational requirements vary for office supervisor positions. Some employers require an associate's degree, while others require a bachelor's degree and relevant training. As this is a supervisory position, the job usually requires between three and five years of relevant experience in the field.
