Am I ungrateful?
Operations Manager, Financial - (City withheld for privacy), United States
I recently just got my review and went over my raise with the VP. I will be getting a small raise of less than 6% after working for a year and two months. Am i wrong to have expected a bigger raise? Should I go back and tell management that I am not comfortable with this small raise when all we've been talking about was how we've double the size of our company.

Asking for a raise
Operations Manager, Financial - (City withheld for privacy), Pennsylvania, United States
If you are a top performer, you just need to ask for a raise or promotion. Managers are not mind-readers and always follow the old adage ... "if you don't ask, you don't get!". Even if you ask and don't get it, at least the manager knows that you are not happy with status quo and may offer some other incentives to keep you happy.
