Optical laboratory managers are responsible for effectively managing all optical laboratory operations and provide exceptional customer service on behalf of their organization. They are in charge of supervising the crafting of quality eyewear for all customers. In addition, they manufacture eyewear in accordance with manufacturing regulations, following strict safety procedures. They interact with colleagues, as well as existing and prospective customers. Optical laboratory managers must work well with other laboratory managers and use their leadership abilities to motivate optical laboratory professionals to reach all company goals in a timely manner. They oversee and supervise the correct cleaning and ongoing maintenance of optical laboratory tools and equipment as well.Read More...
Optical laboratory managers need to have excellent problem solving skills to explore the underlying reasons for recurring laboratory issues and find effective resolutions. They create schedules for other optical laboratory associates, as well as develop budgets for different projects. They create supply and expenses reports, as well as use a personal computer to keep accurate records of supplies and interaction with customers for future reference.
