Job Description for Pantry Cook

Pantry cooks prepare food under the watchful eyes and direction of on-duty executive cooks and kitchen managers. Many kitchens which employ pantry cooks use specific methods to prepare food, and it is the cook's responsibility to uphold the guidelines set forth. They generally prepare salads, meats, seafood, dressings, and occasionally desserts, and cleaning the kitchen and ensuring all food is prepared and stored in a sanitary and safe manner is of the utmost importance.
