Pest control workers are responsible for helping control and eliminate pests from different locations. They are in charge of transporting and using specialized equipment to identify and eliminate pests at houses, companies, and open spaces. They respond to technical questions and client inquiries and develop strong relationships with vendors and customers to increase company loyalty.
These individuals are organized and pay close attention to detail, in order to prevent accidents while working with harmful substances. They follow strict safety protocols by wearing protective gear, such as gloves, goggles, and boots. They work in different environments and should be able to stand on their feet for prolonged periods of time. Some of their main responsibilities include following safety guidelines to prevent contamination and using products that do not harm the environment. They are careful to collect pests’ remains, dispose of them properly, and follow up with clients after treatment. They are able to prioritize projects and multitask with ease. These professionals work well in a team environment to complete control projects in a timely manner. However, they can also work by themselves with minimal supervision.
A high school diploma is required for this position. In addition, previous years of work experience in a pest control capacity can be helpful. Additional industry certifications are a plus.
Pest Control Worker Tasks
Perform thorough pest inspections at residential and commercial properties.
Use, handle, store and dispose of all chemicals and baits in a safe manner according to company guidelines and federal regulations.
Complete routine paperwork, logs and reporting as required by the company.
Ensure customer satisfaction and cross sell additional services
Explain pest control procedures to customers, accurately estimate cost of jobs, and answer customer questions.
