Job Description for Pharmacist Assistant

Pharmacist assistant positions are often found at larger pharmacies, where the main pharmacist requires additional help to keep up with customer demands. For positions in which the assistant must fulfill many of the same duties as the pharmacist, a doctor of pharmacy (Pharm.D.) is the standard requirement, along with a state pharmacist license. However, some jobs are limited to administrative and clerical work and do not require a degree. Both jobs have entry-level openings, but many positions require previous pharmacy experience. All pharmacy assistant jobs require interaction with customers and direct supervision by the pharmacist.
