Job Description for Principal Mechanical Engineer

Principal mechanical engineers are responsible for providing effective mechanical solutions to company equipment. They are in charge of fixing industrial machinery that is needed for production. In addition, they also maintain parts, as well as an accurate inventory of production accessories. They take a leadership role in servicing equipment and supervise work performance of other engineers. Most of the time, principal mechanical engineers are on the production floor making sure all company machinery is working up to standards. They also follow strict safety conditions and use safety goggles and steel toe boots to avoid accidents. Principal mechanical engineers assist in the correction of manufacturing issues and design problems. They also help with other servicing activities such as procedure development and analysis methods.

After having spent 15+ years with contributions totaling to over 20 Million, with fairly substantial technical contributions, I realize that there is a glass ceiling.
