A production controller works to ensure smooth and efficient processes for their organization's activities. They maintain close contact with maintenance personnel to ensure that relevant machinery remains in service and has a maximum uptime. They also work with managers to determine staffing levels to ensure maximum production within budgetary constraints. The production controller schedules when specific tasks are performed in the production cycle. They also maintain close contact with inventory managers to schedule deliveries and pickups of materials and products, making sure the delivery process does not interfere with other operations.
