Job Description for Production Manager, Film

A film production manager handles the day-to-day production responsibilities for shooting a movie. He or she helps to set shooting schedules, arranges for all equipment and sets to be ready, and sets up any location shooting permits. The production manager also helps with budgeting, including ensuring film production stays within the established budget. Film production managers also issue progress reports and assessments to producers and studio executives related to the financial controls of the shoot and schedule.
