A proposal marketing coordinator oversees proposal developments within a company. The proposals can be for creating bids for available work or for negotiations with another party. The proposals will then be the foundations for creating contracts, once the terms are agreed upon.
The coordinator will make sure that the proposals are coherent and grammatically sound. Strong writing skills are necessary to create compelling proposals. It is also important to have strong knowledge of the company’s vision and what it offers, in order to provide relevant proposals. The coordinator will often work on a team to make sure that the vision and strategy are communicated appropriately. The proposal may not only include text. It may also include things such as video presentations, graphs, and slideshows. Strong creative and computer skills are often necessary to create gripping proposals. The coordinator should be able to relate the company’s offerings to the prospective client’s needs and desires. There may be multiple projects that the coordinator needs to participate in at once, so it is important to be able to multitask and to adhere to deadlines. Since this is a coordinator position, it may be necessary to lead a team of several people. In some jobs, the proposal marketing coordinator will also have to carry out other duties as needed.
Usually, this coordinator will need to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in marketing. As a management position, years of related experience are often required.
