Public safety officers generally perform physical tasks such as patrolling a specific area, protecting specific properties, and protecting individuals. These officers must be able to stay mentally calm and collected to ensure that difficult situations do not escalate to violent or physical altercations, and they must also be able to act quickly in such situations to maintain the peace.
