I began working with the company making $10.25 and hour. Every year, the company offers a 3% raise. My manager felt I went above and beyond and gave me a 4.5% raise. After being with them for a year, I felt I deserved more. Thanks to PayScale I was able to provide my employer with information on what the average pay is. My rate went up to 10.75 with the extra 4.5% raise.

I am writing because I have never been fired in my entire life and it is the most humiliating thing.
