Regional vice presidents (RVPs) of sales are in charge of overseeing the regional sales processes for their company, such as implementing sales strategies to increase productivity and ensure overall organization profitability. They identify prospective clients and follow up to generate sales, as well as integrate efficient sales programs into company practice to minimize use of company resources while maximizing business contracts. Regional vice presidents of sales use their leadership skills to motivate sales professionals to increase sales and brand loyalty. They use a personal computer as one of their main tools to track sales progress, create charts, and write detailed sales reports for upper management to review and revise. These executives report their progress to the regional president or manager in their organization.
A bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field is necessary for this position. In addition, previous experience in a regional sales capacity may be required or preferred. Regional vice presidents of sales must be organized individuals that pay close attention to detail and have strong interpersonal skills to tackle sales obstacles with innovative solutions.
