Job Description for Research & Development (R&D) Manager, Pharmaceuticals

A research & development (R&D) manager for pharmaceuticals supervises the work of teams developing new drugs and/or improving existing drugs. The R&D manager carefully directs team members in working toward various research goals, as well as compiling data regarding the team's findings. It also allows the manager and the executives to whom he or she reports to direct or refocus research as needed.
