Job Description for Research Associate, Contract

A contracted research associate is the person who is primarily responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting research in a given field and is hired on a contractual basis. This position can be found in a variety of fields, traditionally in a university or higher learning institution. A person in this position will typically work in an office. However, research-related travel may be necessary. While this position will normally keep traditional office hours (daytime, weekday shifts), it would not be unordinary for the research associate to work long hours. Formal education is dependent on the organization. However, many organizations require research associates to have in-depth knowledge in their field, preferably with a bachelor’s degree.
