Research Scientist, Biotechnology Jobs

Scientist job okay, with occasional moments of brilliance
Research Scientist, Biotechnology - (City withheld for privacy), Utah, United States
Scientist jobs are okay. I think the work / life balance can be good especially if you "settle" for a Master's and get a job ASAP with a biotech company. The, you will usually work 40 hr weeks. You may only get a moderate salary but you should be able to pull down 60-75k after a few years' experience. In a modest city you'll do fine. If you have good people skills you could move to other job types for new challanges / higher pay scales, it's all good.

Science is NOT a dream job...stay away
Research Scientist, Biotechnology - (City withheld for privacy), Massachusetts, United States
I agree....NEVER get into life science research. Long hours, long schooling, absolutely NO promise of a job at the end of it all. And if you get one, it will not even come near the proper compensation you deserve.

Do not get into science and do not go to graduate school
Research Scientist, Biotechnology - (City withheld for privacy), Maryland, United States
Just don't. Go to those professional schools. Your life would be so much happier. Do not let your kids and cousins get into science. Do not let them get interested in becoming a scientist. Help them to go tho the professional school. Don't let them ever think about becoming anything to do with science as a job. They will appreciate your advice forever....
