Retail supervisors must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. They are required to multitask, while also keeping the customer happy and satisfied. It is important that retail supervisors have excellent customer service and communications skills. They also need leadership skills to effectively oversee their team. These supervisors may work a variety of hours that may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Retail supervisors may also be required to work long hours and may need to travel to different stores within the company for meetings and conferences.
Retail supervisor positions generally require a high school diploma or equivalent; however, some companies prefer applicants a college degree. Many companies want experience in sales and operations as well.
