All Advice
No such thing!
I've asked for raises and I am sure a lot of others have as well BUT they do not give raises UNLESS you move up as a lead, manager etc. My manager, store and district manager just laughed and say "Sell more and you're make more" but I did that and it doesn't work because they cut our commission rates to peanuts. The only advice I can honestly give is to find a better sales job. Look for one that deals with technology/services. They will pay you higher hourly rate, commission and more benefits.
Never say.
Keep yourself as versitle as you can. Complaining is not an option. Always remember nobody is irreplacable. There is always someone better or who will do it for less. Make your employer want to keep you and pay you to stay. Being versitle keeps you learning and it helps the BOSS know you want the job. The "complaint department" will never be open. Unless you have serious and sound problems, keep your mouth shut. Pettiness is just that, pettiness. Pay attention to dress codes and all procedures, one mistake could cost your job. Helping everyone in every department gives you leverage for pay increases and a sense of security. Job security is hard to come by. Make yourself available anytime & anyday. And the security will follow.
Complained to Corporate
About how unfair and unprofessional my new manager was. Alot of drama ensued and nothing got better. I ended up putting in my notice because it wasn't worth it to be stressed out over a terrible manager at a retail store.

Get written salary promise
In Denver Colorado job searchers should obtain written salary assurance from businesses prior to taking a job. Most will promise the moon but pay far less than promised. If you object...YOUR FIRED. They simply hire a new patsy.
